Fatal outcomes stem from Ohio collision

On Behalf of | Jun 5, 2019 | Wrongful Death

Physical barriers on roadways can often help keep drivers from traveling into the wrong lane. However, many roadways do not have such barriers, and the only separation is painted lines on the road. Unfortunately, numerous car accidents take place because drivers fail to remain in the correct lane, and a significant number of those incidents have fatal outcomes.

It was recently reported that a fatal crash took place in Ohio. The incident involved two vehicles and occurred when a 43-year-old man failed to remain in his proper lane of travel. His car was traveling west when it went over the center line and collided with a van. The van was being driven by a 55-year-old woman and had a 79-year-old man as a passenger.

The collision resulted in the driver of the car and the passenger in the van being transported to a hospital. However, they were both declared dead at the medical center. It was not mentioned whether the driver of the van suffered any injuries as a result of the incident. Details were also not given as to what may have caused the driver to cross the center line, but the crash was still under investigation at the time of the report.

Car accidents can result in a typical day turning into a devastating one. Fatal outcomes such as the ones resulting from this Ohio collision can easily leave families reeling. The surviving loved ones of the van passenger may find themselves facing unexpected hardships as a result of the crash, and it may benefit them to gain information on their legal options. Though the driver of the other car also died in the event, civil claims could still be filed against his estate if applicable.
